Shore siege 2 is strategy game in which you help a crew of pirates defend their treasure from slugs in a tropical island. The game has movie like feel to it, with music that goes with its setting, and voiceover for the more interesting parts, which includes the part when you call the Kraken to fight for you.

In Shore Siege 2, you are the captain of a pirate ship which has already won a treasure in adventures that happened before the game begins. Now the challenge is to save the treasure from slugs on the islands, which are hell-bent on invading your ship. You have a crew of cutthroat toughs who are good marksmen, as well as cannons by the side of your ship to help defend your ship's treasure.

The game has three different islands, each of which has different levels or scenarios to play from. You can start from the tutorial island, and after completing a level, unlock the higher levels. In each level, your ship is moored to the shore, from where the slugs and other creatures attack to get at your treasure. You can pan the camera while the slugs attack from the left, which helps increase the movie-like atmosphere of the game. As captain, you arm your ship with cannons, and arm your crew with guns. You buy both using oil.

Part of the strategy of the game is to keep your ship stocked with oil that helps drive your cannons and ship. You get oil by installing oil rigs on the island, and then harvest the oil by doing a mouse-over on the rigs. Even when you are under attack, you will have to keep harvesting oil, which makes for interesting game-play and crunch situations when you are on the verge of running out of oil.

If it looks like you will be overpowered by the slugs, you have the option of calling the deadly Kraken. The appearance of Kraken will tilt the balance completely in your favor in a battle - however, you can call it only once every few levels.
